Setup notes for Freebeat owners
- This confirmation came from a bike-tablet Android build, so do not assume the same steps as a normal Bluetooth bike paired to QZ on a phone.
- The public debugging path involved the tablet talking to the bike module over serial rather than a standard Bluetooth FTMS connection.
- If you are testing this model, use Roberto’s latest QZ build for the Freebeat path and verify that metrics appear in the QZ dashboard before pairing external training apps.

What QZ adds
QZ is an equipment and app bridge for indoor bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, rowers and other fitness devices. For a bike such as the Freebeat, QZ can collect available machine data such as cadence, speed, power-like values and resistance where the protocol exposes them, then present virtual-device data to supported training apps.
The QZ codebase also includes broad workout and health integrations, including Strava upload support, Garmin Connect activity support, iOS HealthKit / Apple Health integration, and Android health-platform support such as Google Health / Health Connect where available on the device and platform.
