Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i and QZ: Zwift Auto-Inclination, Garmin and Health Integrations

The Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i can be connected to QZ for live treadmill data and automatic incline control in Zwift. QZ adds a bridge between the treadmill, training apps and fitness platforms, including Garmin, Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Strava and more.

Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i

The official Flow Fitness page lists a 140 × 50 cm running deck, a 1–18 km/h speed range, a 0–12% inclination range, Bluetooth connectivity, 34 programs, a foldable frame, handrail controls, a tablet holder, USB charging, speakers, a fan and support for heart-rate monitoring. The console reports time, speed, distance, calories, inclination and heart rate.[1]

QZ support and the correct build

QZ support for the Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i is implemented in public pull request #5125. The article is therefore a setup guide for a QZ build that includes the DTM2000i implementation; it should not be read as a claim that every older stable QZ release already contains this device-specific driver.[2]

In QZ, enable Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i under the treadmill/iConsole options, restart QZ as requested by the setting, and then select the treadmill connection. The device-specific code parses Flow Fitness telemetry and exposes the DTM2000i data to QZ.[7] [8]

Capability DTM2000i + QZ workflow
Bluetooth QZ connects to the Flow Fitness treadmill using the DTM2000i-specific AppGate protocol path.
Live metrics Speed, inclination, distance, calories, elapsed time and heart rate are decoded from the Flow Fitness telemetry frame.
Incline control QZ sends the treadmill incline command for the Flow Fitness device path, within the machine’s physical 0–12% range.
Zwift QZ can expose treadmill data to Zwift and use Zwift’s gradient information for automatic inclination.
Garmin QZ can record the treadmill workout to FIT and upload it to Garmin Connect; compatible live ANT+ workflows are also available.

Zwift auto-inclination

QZ’s treadmill integration supports Zwift auto-inclination at the application level.[3] For the DTM2000i, QZ reads the treadmill’s current inclination and sends incline commands through the Flow Fitness protocol path. When Zwift provides a gradient, QZ can translate that request into the DTM2000i’s physical incline range, up to 12% according to the manufacturer.[4] [1]

  1. Connect the DTM2000i to a QZ build containing the device-specific support.
  2. Enable the Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i option and restart QZ.
  3. Enable the Zwift auto-inclination option and configure the Zwift connection in QZ.
  4. Connect Zwift to the QZ virtual treadmill and start a route or workout with gradient changes.

More QZ features

How to get started

  1. Install a QZ build containing the Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i support from PR #5125.
  2. Enable the device option in QZ and restart the app.
  3. Pair the treadmill through QZ rather than connecting it directly to several apps at the same time.
  4. Confirm that speed, incline, distance, calories and elapsed time update in QZ.
  5. Connect Zwift to the QZ virtual treadmill and enable auto-inclination.
  6. Grant Garmin, Apple Health or Health Connect permissions if you want the completed workout exported.

The short version

Flow Fitness Runner DTM2000i → Bluetooth → QZ → Zwift auto-inclination, Garmin, Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Strava and more. QZ adds the integration layer while preserving the DTM2000i’s physical 0–12% incline range.
